Same din sakin for my first 6 months, nag deduct ng 28% every month from salary, then after 6 months they deduct the resident tax which is for around 7%.  Sakin kasi nag start ng july-dec 2010 ang 28% tax deduction then the following year (2011) buti nalang meron na silang e-filling.  Sabi kasi nila (locals) nung manual ang filling ng income tax super tagal daw bago ma kuha ang refund, but in my case i used the e-filling and after one month nakuha ko na yung (tax refund) check, pinadala nalang nila.

Para mabawasan din ang tax niyo at medyo malaki ang refund, e include niyo ang anak niyo kahit na nasa pinas when filing, dapat married head of the family, at kung meron kayong biniling mga books, itago niyo lang yung receipt at pede niyo rin e declare when filling the tax.  Even daw you buy a computer within the calendar year pede rin daw yun, hmmmmm ano pa ba... ahh kung meron daw kayo life insurance, pede rin daw yun e declare sa sa ITR.

At dun sa mga mag file (e-filling) na ang family nasa pinas, at ilalagay niyo yung status as married, hihingin yung IC/passport number ng spouse, kung wala pa siya passport, sabi nung accountant namin pede daw kahit ano ilagay dun kasi hindi mo ma submit when using e-filling.

Sana may mapulot kayo

sort of... pero for me, na-waive namin yung 28% for the 1st six months since contracted kami for 2 years.

direct hire ka ba or by agency?
Sir,

In your case, ung employer mo ba ang nagprocess ning waiver of your 28% for the first 6 months or you had to process it with the government or with their HR?

In my case, I am a direct hire expat and with 2year contract...
