guys i need some advise from the expert. I have submitted my resume to jetty and i got a good news i have already passed the interview, and now im going to process my papers. once again thank sir jetty.

now my problem is i am a direct hire and i dont have any agency to process everything. im currently residing at Baguio City, which is 6 - 8 hours away from manila. and we all know that most of the process will be held at manila.

i have asked my friend who is working at the travel agency and asked some advised regarding what would be the first step. etc etc. My friend told me that it would be a hard time for me specially i have no agency. and then tell me that alam mo kasi uso ang lagay sa loob, and then creating an appointment for me would be a hard time since i dont any agency. especially im from baguio and un nga malayo layo ung lalakbayin ko, another thing of course kailangan mo ng titirahan, There are times na pinapabalik balik ka nila at sasabihin, im sorry sir wala kasi ung pipirma, naka leave po kasi ung pipirma, balik po kau next week, etc etc etc.

Now my friends advise is if i have extra money i should ask the help of agency but again he said just be careful.

Last advise was he said to me the easiest way is to enter with a TOURIST VISA, that i need to talked to my boss  and process all the papers in malaysia, Entering as a tourist visa permit you to stay around 30days and he said that the process their in malaysia can only finish with in one week.

any other suggestions would be a big great help? thanks and more power!

Hi Jaypee,

I'm from direct hire too and same company before...So as far as I'm concerned and based on my experiences sa mga dumating na dito fresh from La Union. They did not suffer from anything.

Direct hire is not a big deal since the company have reputation and I'm one of the valid proof. Basically, the process is very simple.

Requirements and procedures :
1. You should have your passport.
2. Have your medical exam (take note the hospital/clinic should be authorized by POEA or Malaysian Embassy because there are laboratory exams that are included for processing of visa)
3. It is expected that you will received 2 letters from the said employer (This letter is from MSC Immigration of Malaysia). One copy for Malaysian Embassy and the 2nd copy is your personal copy - *** take note you should not try open the embassy copy***
4. Proceed to Malaysian Embassy for the processing of your reference visa(located in Makati in front of Mapua). Normally it is 3-4 working days.A friendly reminder - the best time for you to go to embassy is before 8 in the morning so that you will be the first person on line.

Documents needed for embassy
(1) Ticket to Malaysia (reservation ticket is ok, as long as you indicate there your flight details. - we used that before)
(2) Passport
(3) Medical Examinations result (Embassy copy)
(4) Letter from MDeC (MSC) - sent by your employer
(5) Reference visa processing fee is Php 550.00 only but if you want you can ask them if it's possible to have express which means 1day processing. You will pay Php 1,000.00, just tell them that you are from province and you don't have the place to stay. On the same day you will get your passport. Upon receiving your passport you can see a stamp : SINGLE ENTRY VISA with the reference based on the letter from MDeC.

5. Go to POEA located in Ortigas for document processing.(You may try to ask POEA baguio if it's possible to apply there before you go to manila, but i guess it would be better to process all in Manila).

Documents needed
1. Passport with Malaysian Embassy Stamp
2. Medical Examination Result (POEA copy)
3. Contract from your employer (bring with you also the letter from MDeC)
4. Payment (I think it's almost 5k, I can't remember it anymore)

You will undergo with PDOS (Pre Departure Orientation Seminar). After finishing your PDOS you may now get your receipt from POEA. Right after getting the POEA receipt, you can already go here instantly.

Note  : Make sure that you have all photocopy all your documents before going to POEA right after Malaysian Embassy.

Philippine Immigration :
Since you already processed your POEA, you are already considered as OFW, so all you need to give to our immigration officer is the copy of POEA receipt and show your documents. As OFW, we are entitled of free travel and airport tax, so it is expected that you will not pay anything, just show your documents.

Malaysian Immigration :
Just show your personal copy of letter from MDeC (MSC) and passport. They will put a stamp report to Immigration HQ - just don't mind it , just give your passport to Company HR and they will process it for you.

That's it! Just wait for your Employment Pass (Working visa) from the company HR right after they process it from Immigration HQ.

You don't need to become a tourist, it is not true that it is the fastest way, if you will take the tourist visa, still you need to go back to the Philippines to process your documents to become a registered OFW.

If you have any other concerns please feel free to contact me anytime. I'm willing to help you out like what I did to my colleagues here.  We are all direct hire but we didn't encounter any problem, all of us is from La Union.

Regards,
Jetty

Hi Sachi ,

Good morning to you.. I just called our Philippine Embassy here in Malaysia asking about your concern to verify my knowledge about employment here. According to Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO)  officer they are not processing those kind of request for the protection of our kababayan. My previous post tells you that you need to go back is to become a legitimate OFW.

In some cases, yes it's true that some of our kababayan go here for walk-in application and it's really possible that they will not go back home to process their employment pass/working visa BUT the thing is, you will get a job but without protection from our government. That's the main reason why we have POEA and OWWA to protect OFW. So basically, if you will undergo POEA and OWWA - they will check first your company status - they have the list of blacklisted companies to prevent you entering to the same companies with illegal issues or problems in employment.

If for example, accident happened in the workplace, it is not assured that you or your family will get the benefits from our government since you are considered as illegitimate OFW since you didn't process your documents in the Philippines.

It is even more expensive if you will stay here, 1st your accommodation, 2nd is your security and lastly is your visa validation as tourist. Malaysian Immigration allows a foreigner to stay here in Malaysia for 30 days, so most of our kababayan who takes the risk, they have to exit to the nearest country like Singapore/Thailand to have their exit and re-enter again to Malaysia. If you are unlucky, there is a tendency that you will be questioned and will be hold in Immigration of the neighboring countries. Worst scenario is....you will be deported immediately and you will be loosing the chance of getting employed. As a concerned kababayan, I would rather suggest that you go back to the Philippines to process your documents and don't take the risk. Normally, all your processing fee are shouldered by your sponsor/company including your airfare.

Wishing you all the best and God Bless!! :-)

Cheers!

Gudday Mod Jetty,

Thanks for the info,it really helps a lot for me to decide what to do next,.Plans ko sana to stay in malaysia for 15 days para maghanap ng work, try ko yung walk-ins sa call centers kasi cguro mas malaki yung chances ko dun keysa dito sa singapore mostly locals or mandarin speaking yung kelangan eh.

Ask ko lang kung magkano kelangan dala na budget for my 15 days stay in malaysia.I also checked yung suggestion mo na website to where to find a room to let, very useful talaga. Im concerned about security, hindi ba safe yung malaysia sa atin mga pinoy?i mean yung mga tao or yung govt nila?. . .

When it comes to processing sa work permit mahigpit ba yung govt nila sa atin mga foreigners katulad dito sa singapore?..i filed for epass-disapproved..yung spass naman ganun din. . .very frustrating talaga especially maganda na sana yung work..

Thanks for the reply!

Hello Sachi,

Good day to you!

You are always welcome.. Smiley It is my pleasure to help my fellow countrymen. For call center you may also try to apply IBM,ACS,DELL or HP most are English call centers.

About your expenses, I think you will spend more since you will be moving and moving all day long to find a job especially transportation allowances. For the food average po is around RM 5-10 per meal depending on how great you are with regards to eating.(ako kasi is lamon...lolz- but it doesn't show).

About security, much better talaga if you will be staying with fellow kababayan. About safety, for me you can never compare Singapore here..It's like comparing oranges and apples..hehehe..Security wise, I feel much secured here unlike in Manila. Just take good care of your personal belongings specially your passport. Currently, immigration officers of Malaysia is getting strict so it is required to bring your passport anytime and anywhere, specially around Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur. About people,so far they are OK except for some taxi drivers, you can refer to other part of this forum regarding the experiences on taxi drivers.. (Sorry bro, don't have enough time to search for it since I'm in the office right now).

With regards to employment pass/working visa processing, they are just strict with the requirements. If you have complete documents it should not be a problem. The major document that you need is your Diploma(College/University/Foundation) and Employment certificates, if you have training certificates it's a plus point to speed up the process.

Hi foot1oose

Good day!

If you have existing OEC but for another country you need to apply again and even if the same country but different employer you still need to apply again. Basically when you apply for your OEC they will get all the information from your company for verifications. So under your OEC -it is the name of the company where you applied before.

Do I need to do another medical check-up as well as the PDOS which I've already done last year for my employment in another country?
Yes, you still need to take another medical check-up since different countries have their own sets of medical exams. If your result is still valid (I think 3 or 6 months) like drug testing and the others. You can carry it forward so that you will not spend more.Just ask the medical examiners about it to lessen your medical exam fee. One of the major reason why you need to have another set of medical check-up is for your Visa Processing @ Malaysian Embassy in the Philippines. They will ask for a copy of your medical exams and all the exams needed should be existing and the name of the company should be the same in the copy of contract that you will give to them.

About the PDOS, if your OEC is still active it only means that that your PDOS is also active since it have 5 year expiration(as far as I can remember). So you can process your documents without undergoing with PDOS just give them a copy of your PDOS. About the payment, since you already paid OWWA Membership Fee and PhilHealth/Medicare Coverage they will not charge you again (I hope it is not more than a year since you applied for it)-just show your receipt. About the POEA processing fee, that thing I do not know if you will still need to pay the US$100.00 Processing Fee.

Do I go through the procedures you posted?

I think so, but you can skip some part of it like your PDOS.

I also do not have a ticket yet.. how do the companies do the procedure if I sent them the signed offer letter and employment pass?
Actually, on processing you can just have the reservation of booking. The copy that you can get if you want to reserve a ticket from an agent. As long as they can see the date of departure and country of destination. Libre naman po yun..hehehe. As far as I know, Employment Pass are processed here. I think the one that you are signed up (Employment Pass) is for processing and that is not Employment Pass yet.

what is (4) Letter from MDeC (MSC) - sent by your employer?
About MDeC (MSC), if your company is MSC status (this is only applicable for IT industries)  the processing is faster. It is like special Immigration unit exclusively for IT http://www.mdec.my/about.php. Your employer will request for reference visa for you to process your documents in the Philippines and MDeC will send 2 letters (1 is your personal copy and the 2nd one is for Embassy).Just like what happened to us they already have the reference visa and we didn't encounter any difficulties during the application.

**NOTE : I answered this based on my experiences and most of your questions, I asked it before during my PDOS. Medyo madaldal kasi ako at matanong especially when it's my first time to apply**

If you have additional info please feel free to comment. :-) I hope my reply can help. :-)

You can also check www.poea.gov.ph/ for verifications.

Cheers and have a blessed day ahead!

"Basically when you apply for your OEC they will get all the information from your company for verifications. So under your OEC -it is the name of the company where you applied before."
------> will they still allow me to get another OEC even if I have existing already?

thank you.

Regards.

Hi foot1oose,

Your welcome... Smiley

About your question, I think they will give you another OEC. I suggest you call them for verification.  They might change their policy.

Maybe you can also tell us how are we going to address you since your username is foot1oose..hehehe

Regards,
Jetty

thank you very much jett. I will try to call them and verify.

BTW, you can call me John. See you soon in Malaysia...

Thanks a lot. God bless!
