Hi Yani,

What I'm trying to say about the confidentiality is all about the offer that is why I send you private message.Normally, it is unethical to talk salaries in public... :-)

No other things..hahaha...napatawa po ako dun ah....sorry i didn't make things clear.

Basically for 15 years of XP then salary is only 5K. I think masyadong mababa po un for that long experience.
Tomtekint - as far as I know , any oil and gas related industry is a very good path....

Hello Yani,

hehehehe..

Good morning po...
If you can bargain a better offer and better package that would be great.
Package like free accommodation, health cards, insurances and travel/food allowances.

Rm 5,000 for 15 years of experience parang di po ata makatarungan yun.(it is just my comment).

Basically, makikita mo po dito some part of the forum about the cost of living po...para may idea ka po sa mga possible expenses at kung may maiipon ka po..

Sending kids to school is hard esp college level...I know...kasi naexperience ko na po yan until now..Though it's not kids kasi wala pa nmn akong anak..hehehe..kapatid ko po..

My only advice po is..if you can ask for better compensation why not..Though yung offer is masasabi nmn nating OKEY kesa sa sasahurin mo sa pinas..Tax here is also lower..so kung savings mas makakaipon ka po..

You can also use it as your stepping stone...then pag nandito ka na, before you end your contract find a better opportunity po...

:-)

Kagaya ng paulit ulit na sinasabi ko po....if you can ask for more why not..else if you really wanted the job...get it po..then use it as one step forward to get a better opportunity ...It's based on my experience...hehehe...kinagat ko ung mababang offer..then before my contract ends I make sure that I already have a better company who will give me a better salary..

And it really works.sometimes we just need to believe on the right time..but of course put more more effort.. :-)

Yani.. ang CAD draftsman na lokal with only 2 yrs experience gets rm2-3k only depending sa company. So if 10 yrs and above it should be 5k up... as for your case I advise na you go to spcialized CAD na para tumaas ang salary.. what I mean is go learn 3D CAD and apply in Oil and Gas Companies. You can learn PDS/PDMS for 3D Piping or BOCAD for 3D Structural.. May I know what kind of 2D drawings are you experienced doing? is it Archi or Process/Mechanical? I am a civil engineer with engineer position but sometimes also doing 2d drafting. So apply for higher positions if possible and don't stop learning new things....

Wait po...Cost of Living nga pala ang topic dito hehe...ok here's mine

Condo - rm 950 / month 3 rooms for a family of 5.
Transpo - rm 900 / month for car loan of 5 yrs to pay plus gas/petrol rm 200
Groceries - rm 2k / month including baby milk and diapers
School - rm1k for 2 kids
Utilities - elect rm150, phone/internet rm140, cooking gas rm10, water rm40, astro rm100, water filter rental rm110
Extra - eat out and shopping rm300 depending on mood to spend hehe

I hope this can help..

Hi Big Ron,

Normally pag medyo malayo na sa Main City much cheaper ang cost of living,...Kasi last time sa Kuantan nmn ako ng stay for almost a year...mas mura ang cost of living compared dito sa KL... :-)

here's my take on the expenses of someone who is living and working in i-City, Shah Alam.

bali the company paid for the apartment as well as the utilities (air and tenaga nasional). Monthly ito and medyo over-estimate na to kasi the prices here outside of KL is way low compared sa KL mismo. So i think for those who are planning to work here, do negotiate if the company can shoulder your board and lodging. Also, mas comfortable pa kasi they wouldnt let you stay with others, e.g. Malay, Indian, etc.

Daily Lunch Outs sa Office: RM 300
Home Food & Groceries: RM 200
Internet & Astro Subscription: RM 200
Transpo: RM150 including weekends pag church
Maxis: RM100
Extra: RM500 (clothes, kape, bisyo, etc)
----
Total: RM1450.
