as per mga senior OFWs, exempted daw ang tax sa customs sa personal use na gamit especially on Christmas season for OFWs.

meron ako nahanap na link regards this, and i would think tama naman pagkaintindi ko Smiley

i-print ko ito para lang may panghawakan akong ebidensya in case ma question Smiley (good way of saying isasampal ko sa mukha nang sino mang haharang sa akin at hihingi nang pabaon!)

i think applicable to kahit walang occassions.

wala talagang kelangan bayaran na tax ang mga OFW, used or brand new.

within reasonable number of items naman siguro.

YUp... as per ou customs law...

Php 10,000.00 worth lang po ang excempted for OFW, more than that value will be taxable..Pero sometimes my mga special cases nmn po.. na as in nakakalampas nmn sila sa customs without paying anything...at ung nga mga mga special cases na walang limit sa amount only the number of items..kagaya nung last christmas..

yes, 10,000.00 worth nga ang pwde sa OFW pero share ko nalang ito sa inyo na merong tayung several ways para maitakas ito. hahaha. atin atin nalang ito

1.) tell the office that its your first time to bring an electronic item. - hehe, just in case hindi umubra may mga paraan pa tayu dont worry. go to number #2

2.) if possible gamitin mo muna ung gamit sa Malaysia para maging second hand, (maybe 1 to 3 months) atleast matest mo kung gumagana or hindi, the longer the better. since second hand wala ng tax, just in case hindi naka lusot my option pa tayu.

3.)bring a fake and original receipt.

fake = para ipakita sa  custom na mura ang bili mo, just in case nagkabukingan mababa ang tax mo, take note your item will be tax 27% of the remaning amount.

assuming item price : 30,000 - 10,000 = 20,000 * 27% = 5400 ang tax mo.

original = dont worry naka fragile naman ung baggage mo, so just in case binasag ng airasia or cebu pacific, gamitin mo ung original receipt pang claim.

4.) lastly, just in case 5400 ung tax mo, bulungan mo c officer, kuya / ate baka naman pwdeng pag-usapan ito, hingi naman ako ng discount in a polite way, and tell them na kahit wag ka ng resibuhan.

Always remember that mahirap kumita ng pera sa abroad and minsan hindi namang masama magsinungaling. white lies. hahahha good luck everyone. Takas Takas lang.
